App Locksmith
Done in 5 business days
A customer sent you a security questionnaire?

Don't lose the deal to a spreadsheet you can't answer.

A bigger customer wants proof your app is safe. I check your app, fix what would fail, and fill in the questionnaire with you, truthfully, so the deal keeps moving.

Free call first. Nothing is charged until you've seen the scope and said yes.

Done in 5 business days, from when you send me the questionnaire. Paid up front.

I'm Nate Parker, a senior software engineer. Passing other companies' security reviews is part of my day job, on a healthcare platform.

Sound familiar?

  • They asked about "encryption at rest" and you had to look it up.
  • You're tempted to tick yes on everything and hope nobody checks.
  • This one customer is worth more than your last few months combined.

What you get

  • Answers you can stand behind
Every yes is true, because I checked it or fixed it first.
  • The failing parts fixed
The common gaps in AI-built apps take days to fix, not months. That work is included.
  • A one-page security summary
Send it to the next customer who asks, before they send a spreadsheet.
  • Backup on the call
If their IT team wants to talk, I join and handle the technical questions.

Why it's $1,200

Freelance security consultant, hourly$144 average
This, flat, answers and fixes included$1,200

The thing people reach for instead is SOC 2: months, an accounting firm, many times this, and not what your customer asked for. They asked for a questionnaire answered truthfully.

Figures from freelance security consultant rates. Not my former prices: I have never charged them.

Who you're hiring

Nate Parker
Nate Parker
Senior software engineer

For five years I've built and defended the platform at a healthcare software company, where security is a large part of my job. I'm also the security engineer for a B2B software startup, and I've found real vulnerabilities in widely used open-source code. I've built, shipped and sold my own software too, so I know what it's like when the app is your income. You work with me directly.

Fair questions

Can't I just say yes to everything?
You can, until they ask for evidence or something goes wrong. A false answer can turn into a contract problem. Honest answers with a plan for the gaps close deals too.
They want SOC 2. Can you do that?
No, and you may not need it yet. SOC 2 is a months-long audit by an accounting firm. Many buyers will accept solid answers and a security summary from a small vendor. If yours won't, I'll tell you.
What if my app has real problems?
It probably has a few. That's why you're here. Finding them now is cheaper than a customer finding them later.

Tell me about the deal

Who's asking, and when they need it back.

One or two sentences is plenty. We can talk properly on the call.

Optional. Useful if the customer has put a date on it.

I reply within 24 hours, and the call is free.
